A funny month April. Not much in the way of training but 2 successful races.
The first was the Paddock Wood Half Marathon run in 1:24:01. A warm up for London saw a steady marathon pace run for the first 19k and a 2k sprint!
My first ‘A’ race of the year was the London Marathon and I was very happy with a 2:51:44, an 8 minute PB.
Largely down to returning to work full time (probably briefly) and the taper for the London Marathon I haven’t managed much training time although the race results themselves make the month a good one.
I swum 19.5k over the month, most of it at the beginning of April and cycled only 94k. The focus was on running and largely that was a taper for London. I ran 160k over the month as the weeks wound down to London and did very little in the week afterwards as my legs slowly recovered.
Looking forward to May should bring more time to train and a solid 2 week block with a week long week taper for Austria 70.3.
